The Martin

A couple of weeks ago I took a quick trip to Martinborough.

Here are some photos. From Martinborough.

The Carter

A couple of weeks ago I spent a night in Carterton.

Here are two photos. Not necessarily from Carterton.

The Brian

A week ago today my Uncle Brian died.

We didn't see much of him, but he was my favourite uncle - the life and soul of any gathering.

But news of his passing wasn't unexpected or terribly sad.

He had his life rudely taken from him long ago and had been in care for over twenty years.

The funeral was in Christchurch last Wednesday. I didn't go.

I don't have any photos of Brian close to hand but here's a photo of his bride on their wedding day.

And one of his wife, some of his kids, and various other members of our family one Christmas in Christchurch, at a guess in the early 1980s.

As trite as it sounds I sincerely hope you are in a much better place now Brian.

The Andy

A few days ago I bumped into an old friend.

She asked me a question.

This is a response.

In my jihadi/Lawrence of Arabia phase earlier this year. (Taken on my phone.)

In my night streetwalker phase some years ago. (Taken on my phone.)

In my self-imposed exile phase in Carterton a couple of weeks ago. (Taken with the camera I'm holding.)

The Kate

A few days ago I bumped into an old friend.

She asked me a question.

This isn't a response.

But a very vague homage to the photo on her first business card.

The Nicety

Sometimes friends do nice things for you like give you film that they are unlikely to use for various reasons.

Sometimes said friends have already used the film they give you.

So sometimes you get weird things like this.

My part's the Makara landscape stuff, by the way.

I wouldn't want to take credit for what could have once been quite nice shots that aren't actually mine.
